In short. Your content stays yours. We host it, keep it online and give you tools to write, publish and earn from it. In return you agree to use NeuroPress lawfully, to keep your account secure, to take responsibility for what you publish, and never to send fake traffic to ads. Either of us can end the agreement; if we do it for a reason other than a breach, we give you notice and time to take your content with you.
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and NeuroPress (“NeuroPress”, “we”, “us”). They apply to the website at neuropress.io, the NeuroPress app at app.neuropress.io, the API and connectors, and every blog hosted on NeuroPress, whether it runs on a NeuroPress address or on your own domain (together, the “Service”).
You accept these terms by creating an account or by using the Service. If you are using it for a company or another organisation, you confirm that you may bind that organisation, and “you” then means both of you.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and is part of these terms. Blogs hosted on NeuroPress belong to their owners; the people who read them deal with the owner, under the owner’s own terms, except where these terms say otherwise.
2. Your account
- Who can have one. You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement where you live, or have the permission of a parent or guardian who accepts these terms for you.
- Accurate details. Give us a real name and an email address you can read, and keep them up to date. We use that address to reach you about your account and your blog.
- Keep it secure. You are responsible for everything done through your account. Choose a strong password, do not share it, and tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account.
- People and tools you let in. If you invite team members to your blog, or create a connector that lets ChatGPT, Claude or another tool work on it, their actions on your blog count as yours. Remove a member or delete a connector as soon as you no longer want them to have access.
3. Your blog and your content
- It stays yours. You keep every right you have in the posts, pages, images and other material you put on your blog (“your content”). We claim no ownership of it.
- What you let us do with it. To run the Service you give us permission to store your content, copy it for backups and caching, resize and convert images, deliver it to readers, and show excerpts of it in your own dashboard and in features you switch on. This permission lasts as long as your content is on NeuroPress and ends when you delete it, except for copies in backups that are overwritten in the normal cycle.
- You are responsible for it. You confirm that you have the rights needed to publish your content, that it does not break any law or anyone’s rights, and that it follows section 4. Published content is public by design; think before you publish.
- Your domain. You may connect a domain name only if you own it or are authorised to use it. We obtain and renew the certificate for it; you keep the domain registered and the DNS record pointed at us.
- Keep your own copy. We take reasonable care of your content, but you are responsible for keeping copies of anything you cannot afford to lose. You can ask us for an export of your blog at any time.
- Removal. We may remove or hide content that breaks these terms or the law, or that we are legally required to take down. Where we reasonably can, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. Report content that infringes your rights to [email protected] with the page address and the reason.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service, or let anyone else use it through your account, to:
- publish anything unlawful, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually exploitative, or that incites violence;
- publish content you do not have the right to use, or copy other people’s work without permission;
- deceive readers, impersonate a person or organisation, or pass off automated content as something it is not;
- distribute malware, phishing pages, or scripts that interfere with readers’ devices or other sites;
- send spam, run unsolicited mailings through the email add-on, or collect readers’ personal information without a lawful basis;
- generate, buy or encourage artificial traffic, clicks or impressions on advertising, on your blog or anyone else’s;
- probe, overload, scrape or attack the Service or another user’s blog, or try to get around a limit or a security measure;
- resell the Service or use it to host something that is not a blog or a landing page without our written agreement.
We may set reasonable limits, for example on storage, upload size, request rate and the number of blogs per account, and will apply them fairly.
5. Advertising and Ad Shield
- Your ad accounts are yours. You may place advertising on your blog, including Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager, under your own agreement with the ad network. You must follow that network’s policies. We are not a party to that agreement and are not responsible for the network’s decisions about your account, your earnings or your payments.
- Ad Revenue connection. If you connect a Google account, you allow NeuroPress to read your earnings reports as described in section 4 of the Privacy Policy. You can disconnect at any time.
- Ad Shield. Our bot and fraud filtering is designed to stop much of the invalid traffic that would otherwise reach your ads. It works on probabilities and on information that visitors’ browsers send, so it cannot catch everything and may occasionally hold back an ad from a real reader. We do not promise that it will prevent any particular invalid-traffic finding, deduction or sanction by an ad network.
- Policy checks. Features that check your pages against advertising or quality policies are an aid for you, not a guarantee of approval by anyone.
6. AI features and connectors
- Review before you publish. The AI writer, SEO optimiser, assistant and fact checker produce suggestions with the help of a third-party model. They can be wrong, outdated or biased, and the fact checker can miss a false claim or question a true one. You decide what gets published, and you are responsible for it as if you had written it yourself.
- Connectors act as you. A connector lets an outside tool read and change your blog within the permissions you chose. Anything it does, including publishing, editing or deleting, is treated as done by you. Keep connector keys secret and delete a connector you no longer use.
- Third-party terms. AI features send the text you ask them to work on to the model provider named in the Privacy Policy, under that provider’s terms. Stock photos come with the licence terms of their source. Do not use these features for material you are not allowed to share.
7. Add-ons and fees
- The basics are free. Creating an account, writing, publishing and connecting your own domain currently cost nothing, and we do not ask for a payment card to sign up.
- Add-ons. Extra features such as AI writing, Visitor Insights, Ad Revenue and the connectors are add-ons that NeuroPress switches on for a blog. Some add-ons may carry a fee. Before a paid add-on is enabled we tell you the price, the billing period and how to cancel, and no fee is charged without your agreement.
- Changes. We may change the price of an add-on for future periods with at least 30 days’ notice, and we may add, change or withdraw add-ons. If we withdraw one you have paid for, we refund the unused part of the period.
- Taxes. Prices do not include taxes that apply where you live unless we say so.
8. Our service
- What we provide. Hosting for your blog, the editor and dashboard, delivery to readers, the certificate for your domain, and the add-ons switched on for your blog.
- Availability. We work to keep the Service online and fast, and we monitor it around the clock, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Maintenance, upgrades and events outside our control can cause downtime. Where planned maintenance will be noticeable, we try to tell you in advance.
- Improvements. We may change the Service to improve it, to meet legal or technical requirements, or to retire features that few people use. If a change takes away something material, we give you reasonable notice.
- Support. We answer questions sent to [email protected] as quickly as we can, usually within a few working days.
9. Privacy and your readers
How we handle your personal information is described in the Privacy Policy. For the readers of your blog you are the one who decides what is collected, and the law may treat you as the data controller. In particular:
- if you turn on Visitor Insights, comments, analytics, advertising or any other feature or script that collects information from readers, you must tell them in your own privacy notice and obtain any consent the law requires where they live;
- you must respond to readers who exercise their rights over information your blog holds about them, and we help you do so;
- you must not add trackers or scripts that break the law or the rules of the ad networks you use.
10. NeuroPress’s own property
The NeuroPress name, logo, software, designs, themes and documentation belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you the right to use the Service; they do not transfer any of that to you, and you may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer or resell it except where the law allows. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.
11. Suspension and termination
- By you. You can stop using the Service at any time. To delete your account and the blogs it owns, write to [email protected] from the email address on your account. Hand a blog to another member first if you want it to continue.
- By us, for a breach. We may suspend or end your access, remove content, or disable a feature if you break these terms, if your blog exposes us or others to legal risk, if we are required to by law, or if your blog is used to send invalid traffic to advertising. We act in proportion to the problem and, where it is safe to do so, tell you first.
- By us, for other reasons. We may also end the Service or your account for other reasons, for example if we discontinue NeuroPress, with at least 30 days’ notice by email, so that you can export your content.
- What happens next. When an account ends, its blogs stop being served and the content, statistics, recordings, connections and other data are deleted within 30 days, except what we must keep by law. Sections 3 (your responsibility for your content), 10, 12, 13, 14 and 16 continue to apply.
12. No warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about it beyond what these terms say: not that it will meet your needs, be uninterrupted, be free of errors, or that AI output, policy checks or Ad Shield will be accurate or complete. Nothing in these terms removes rights that the consumer protection law where you live gives you and that cannot be excluded.
13. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, NeuroPress is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost advertising revenue, lost data, or sanctions imposed by an ad network or another third party, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability to you for everything arising from the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in that period, or 100 US dollars if you paid nothing.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for a deliberate breach of these terms.
14. Claims caused by your blog
If a third party makes a claim against us because of your content, your use of the Service in breach of these terms, or your breach of the law or of an ad network’s policies, you agree to cover the costs, damages and reasonable legal fees we incur as a result. We will tell you about the claim promptly and let you take part in its defence.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as NeuroPress changes. The date at the top shows when they were last revised. If a change is material we tell you by email or in the dashboard at least 14 days before it takes effect, unless the change is required by law or only adds a new feature. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect, the new terms apply; if you do not agree with them, end your account before that date.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the country in which NeuroPress is established, and the courts of that country have jurisdiction over any dispute, except that if you are a consumer the mandatory consumer protection law and courts of the country where you live also remain available to you. Before going to court, please write to us; most problems can be solved by talking.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. These terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about the Service.
